Job Opportunity – Medical Laboratory Technologist

Location: ASN Upendo Village Dispensary, Naivasha
Employment Type: Full-time

ASN Upendo Village Dispensary is seeking to recruit a skilled and motivated Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate laboratory diagnostics, maintaining high-quality standards, and supporting patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, receive, and document samples/specimens.
• Analyze samples/specimens and issue accurate lab results.
• Prepare laboratory reagents as required.
• Maintain laboratory records, reagents, and equipment.
• Sterilize and disinfect lab apparatus and ensure safe working conditions.
• Strictly follow SOPs from specimen collection to reporting.
• Compile and submit timely laboratory reports.
• Monitor stock to prevent overstocking or expiry of reagents.
• Place orders for reagents and consumables.
• Comply with health and safety regulations to maintain a clean and safe laboratory.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Required Profile

• Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences from KMTC or a recognized institution.
• Valid practicing license from the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians & Technologists Board (KMLTTB).
• 3–5 years of experience working in a busy health facility.
• Strong report writing and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well in a diverse team environment.
• Proficiency in computer applications (Word, Excel) and Hospital Information Management Systems (HIMS).
• Solid knowledge and understanding of laboratory best practices.
