Success Story of Esther Wanjiku
Esther is a grandma who is 53 years old and stays with her 5 grandchildren whose mother went missing after knowing her HIV&AIDS status. In 2011, she applied for an interest-free loan and she qualified. She was granted the loan of Kshs 6,000.00 to boast her business of selling fruits. Her business venture did very well because Esther is able to earn a profit of Kshs 1,000.00 on a bad day and on a good market day, she can earn up to Kshs 5,000.00 as profit. After repaying the loan, she started saving and managed to buy a quarter acre piece of land where she is planning to build a house. The business is still going on well and the economic status of the family has improved because the family can now afford to have their daily meal; educate her grandchildren and save for the house she is planning to construct.
